The Manistee River runs approximately 232 miles through Michigan's northern lower peninsula, it passes through many villages before entering Lake Michigan at the city of Manistee. The River system has a rocky bottom with fast moving cool water, vigorous currents with calm pools and perfect habitat to hold and reproduce an abundance of fish.
Species include, Wild Rose, Seeforellen brown trout, and Gilchrist Creek browns, Michigan strain Chinook, (natural reproduction), as well as migratory kings, Coho Salmon, Eagle Lake Rainbows, Skamania and the Michigan strain of Steelhead trout.
