Manistee offers year round fishing whether on Lake Michigan,
surrounding rivers, and inland lakes.

Manistee holds three state records for Brown trout, and more "Master Angler Awards" than any other Lake Michigan port. Because of our river systems and our proximity to deepwater, we have a year-round steelhead fishery, both off-shore on the open lake and Spring and fall in our river systems. Manistee Chinook salmon are plentiful, these fish average 12-18lb class with an occassional 25-30lb class king. Lake trout average in the eating size of 6-10lbs. And our Fall coho run is one of the best in the world!
