This coming weekend will kick off the season with the Onekama Marine Memorial Weekend Shake Down Tournament.  There haven't been many people fishing yet so we don't have a lot of info to share.  The guys, who have been out, reported some nice 14- 15 pound kings being caught which is nice to hear.  If you are fishing from your own boat this weekend be sure to check out our net information for reported net locations and other information on Manistee's commercial fishing nets.  There are a number of nets in the lake right now.  Some are being fished and others are still out from last year.  The tribe has contracted with a 3rd party to remove the nets not being fished and that process has started.  We will post updated info as it becomes available.  The commercial fishermen have asked that anyone who notes any floating line or missing net markers give them a call so that they can take corrective action.  They can be reached at 231-239-1310 or 231-794-5333.  As always you are also encouraged to call the DNR Rap Hotline (800-292-7800).
