Manistee County had strong thunderstorms pass through yesterday receiving up to 5 inches of rain in some areas.  The weather cleared this morning and we were able to enjoy another great day out on the lake.  Fishing today had mixed results with some boats struggling for a few fish and others doing quite well.  The boats fishing shallow did not have nearly the success they have had the past few days.  We fished from the 13's down to the 10's and back in 90 - 160 FOW.   We marked lots of fish but had trouble getting them to go at first.  Strong currents and rollers from the North made it difficult to get a good troll.  Once we got the boat slowed down by putting out both bags and dropped the riggers down below a hundred feet, we started hitting fish on hootchies and flies.  Our best was a big white hootch pulling a KRW Aquagold fly.  We only took two fish on spoons today, one came on a green hornet behind ten colors of lead core and the other came on a Moonshine Blue Flounder on a rigger 100 down.  Everything else came on hootchies and flies off riggers and also wire divers with a big ring set on 1.5 set 180 and 200 back.

Create great memories on Lake Michigan. Follow this link or call the Visitors Center at 877- 626-4783 and have them find you a MAC Captain for a wonderful charter.
