I fished from the 12s to the 8s today. Most of the captains were in early but not this one. We ended up with 8 four year old Salmon and lost an equal amount. The fish came on large white Fish catcher, A Large Black one, a couple on J plugs and a couple a meat rig. The fish seemed to be from 40- 50 early and all the way down to 100-125 by mid morning

Great day on the water. Fishing was good to the north, 15-18 line, with the fish coming from the 55, and 65 and 80 foot downriggers from 85 - 115 of water on Stinger magnum NBK & Blue Dolphins and the large white Fish catcher and Aqua gold flies along with a green meat rig. I tried some plugs but no takers today. We headed back with our limit at 9:00am. The 12-9 line had great fishing with captains limiting out early on, you guessed it, Large white hooch and Aqua gold glow flies.

The wind blew hard all night out of the Northwest. There were only a few boats out this morning. The temperature break moved up to 60 feet with a very good early bite. Large White Fishcatchers Aqua Gold fly worked well again followed closely by Silver Hoard plugs. With the winds today the fishing was from the 16 south to the 12s.  Come fish Manistee. The fish are bigger and more plentiful then they have been in a couple years.

The wind was blowing hard out of the Southwest. The break was back down to 100 feet with Salmon hitting on large white Fishcatchers and Aqua Gold glow fly's from 85-110 down in the early morning with a major slowdown around 8:ooam. The bite started back around 9:30 on Meat 260 back on the Dipseys, large ring set at 1 1\2and spoons with a Blue Dolphin working well 90 feet down. The fishing today was from the 12's back to Manistee.

Fishing was tougher today.  Managed to go 9 for 13 but it was not the fast paced action we have had the past few days.  Fished from the 14's down to the 11's in all depths of water ranging from 60 - 260.  Picked one here and one there with no real consistency.  The fish were very scattered.   The weather does not look good for tomorrow with strong winds and thunderstorms in the forecast.

More of the same today.  Took fish steady from dawn until we hit our six person limit.  The fish remain in the top 50 feet of the water column and getting away from boat traffic seemed to help the bite.  Took fish on 1/2 cores pulling j-plugs; full cores with green and blue dolphin spoons; spoons on the riggers 55 - 35 down; high divers 130 - 150 back pulling a spoon on one side and dodger and fly on the other; and low divers with hootchies and Aquagold flies. If you are thinking about booking a trip, now is the time to do it.  Pick up the phone and call one of our Manistee Area Captains today.

I know it sounds like a broken record but today was excellent again.  The fish and cold water are in the top 40 to 50 feet.  Riggers and Divers went early but once the sun was up they seemed to slow down and the core took over.  Half and Full cores took fish pulling both plugs and spoons.   We did get the riggers going again by running LONG leads on the outdowns and three colors of lead core off the center.  The fish seem to be spread through out the waters off Manistee and Onekama.  Boats fishing south, north, deep and right on the shelf all experienced good action.
