We marked good numbers of fish and bait in 60 -100 fow straight out but didn't have any takers.  Started hitting fish once we were out to 160 fow and took fish all the way out to 350 in the 13's.  Green Hootch w/ KRW Aquaglow was best both on the 60 foot rigger and diver back 150.  Also took fish on plugs off the riggers at 30 and 45 feet.  5 and 10 color cores with "Hey Baby" and NBK.  Ended up 8 for 11.  6 Kings and 2 Steelhead.

Manistee Brown Trout - Photo by Robert OlsenThis HUGE brown trout was caught on a crankbait in the Manistee River by Tom Healy of Rockford.  It is reported to weigh 41 pounds 7.25 oz which would make it not only a new State Record but also a potential World Record.  Four of the last five State Record Browns have been caught in Manistee.

Another “knocks your socks off morning”. The fleet left the Harbor greeted by a full moon. As the sun eased its way over the sand dunes the fish were on a bite but as the sun got up the fish went to sleep. Captains that made the first bite ended up with from 4 -8 fish. The fish  seemed to be from 25-40 down and 100 & 150 back on slide divers. Fish were still scattered from 40 -250 feet of water. The thermo cline is up pretty high over most of the lake. Meat, Hooch’s and Plugs all seemed to work over the last couple days.

There is still some mighty fine fishing left in September. Call a MAC captain and book your trip today.

Fishing was great due to the big kings staging on the bank or shelf.  Most of the big catches came on Glow spoons or plugs and flashers with flies or meat.  Fishing down 70 to 140 ft over 140 to 350 ft. of water.  The general consesus of the pro's is good fishing to late Sept.  These pros have a few days open for your fishing needs.  Tight lines and good luck.

Fishing was great this morning almost everywhere on Plugs and Fish catchers with flies. Shipwatch Marina put together a 13 boat corporate charter with Manistee Charter Boat Association boats. The group brought in 144 fish weighing a total of 1450 pounds. Manistee fishing does not get any better than it is right now.  There are still a few open dates available.  Give one of our Captains a call today!

Manistee Salmon FishingFishing remains good from the port of Manistee.  Fishing has been best to the North the past few days but that may be changing.  Today we saw good action straight out in 160-200 fow.  Fish were coming as deep a 130 foot rigger and as high as 10 colors of lead.  Here is a picture of a recent group outing.  Only part of their catch is in the photo.  They fished on 4 Manistee Charter Boats and landed a total of 45 fish!

The fish are starting to show up in good numbers!  Captains today reported catches between 4 and 15 fish.  While we have better numbers, the fish are still in pockets.  If you start out on them, you are going to have a good morning.  If you miss first bite it is going to be a struggle.  Fish are being taken from 60 -160 down on plugs and fish catchers.  We also had a Moonshine Flounder Pounder go several times this morning 115 down.  Wire Divers pulling attractors and flies are taking fish running from 225 - 300 back.  Most of the boat traffic this morning was straight out and North.  There is still time to get out fishing this season.  Give us a call
