More of the same today.  Took fish steady from dawn until we hit our six person limit.  The fish remain in the top 50 feet of the water column and getting away from boat traffic seemed to help the bite.  Took fish on 1/2 cores pulling j-plugs; full cores with green and blue dolphin spoons; spoons on the riggers 55 - 35 down; high divers 130 - 150 back pulling a spoon on one side and dodger and fly on the other; and low divers with hootchies and Aquagold flies. If you are thinking about booking a trip, now is the time to do it.  Pick up the phone and call one of our Manistee Area Captains today.

I know it sounds like a broken record but today was excellent again.  The fish and cold water are in the top 40 to 50 feet.  Riggers and Divers went early but once the sun was up they seemed to slow down and the core took over.  Half and Full cores took fish pulling both plugs and spoons.   We did get the riggers going again by running LONG leads on the outdowns and three colors of lead core off the center.  The fish seem to be spread through out the waters off Manistee and Onekama.  Boats fishing south, north, deep and right on the shelf all experienced good action.

Fishing remains excellent!  Fished South today from the 11's down to the nets.  100 - 180 foot of water was all good.  Took fish on Hootchies and flies, J-Plugs (gray ghost, green glow and blue glow) as well as on spoons.  There are still a few openings for August so call one of our Captains today to reserve your date.

Lots of fish were caught today.  It didn't seem to matter if you were North or South....fishing 120 or 60 down.  The fish were there today.  Moonshine's Flounder Pounder and Dancing Anchovy were both hot.  The big hootch pulling a green fly started out hot but went dead after the early morning bite.  The wire divers 165 -185 back were hot all morning pulling the regular sized hootches and KRW Aquagold flies.    We took fish in all depths of water ranging from 85 to 250 foot.  It's not too late to book a trip for 2006.  Please contact one of our Captains today to get in on this outstanding action

Boats fishing South of the 12's seemed to do better today.  We fished from the 14's North through the 18's.  Lots of fish on the graph early but they just wouldn't bite.  All of our fish came later in the morning on full cores.  Had one rigger hit and a screamer on a wire dipsey that didn't make it to the boat.  Other than that, everything was on lead core.  Chrome Blue/Blue Spin Doctor with a blue fly was the best today followed by Pro Kings PK special on the other full core.

Today was good but slower than yesterday.  Fishing seemed to be hit or miss.  Lots of catches ranging from 5-10 fish but not nearly the action of yesterday.  You had to work for them today.  Best baits were the big white hootch on the chute rigger with a KRW aquaGLOW fly.  Fishlander Blueberry muffin ultraglow was good today along with the Hey Baby and Pro Kings PK Special.  Lot of marks on the graph early but many had trouble getting them to go.  Full core and free sliders also took fish today.  It was crowded so most didn't run core until the boats had spread out a bit.  Please be courteous of others on the water.

Fishing was HOT this morning.  Best action came North in 100-150 foot of water.  All nice sized Kings ranging from 15- 20+ pounds.  Riggers 80 - 110 down took most of the fish with both spoons and hootchies taking fish.   Wire Drivers pulling hootchies rounded out the balance of the catch.  The KRW Aquagold fly continues to be a fish killer.  It is not too late to get in on the action.  Please contact one of our member captains to book your Lake Michigan adventure.
