July 20, 2010 PDF
Fishing has been great the past few days with good numbers of good sized fish being taken. The fish are coming 90-75 down on riggers pulling flies, plugs, spoons and meat.  Divers, copper and core with Dive Bombs are taking fish too.  Yesterday was slow for many people early but improved as the fleet moved west into 250 - 400 feet of water.  It is a great time to be in Manistee and especially out on Lake Michigan.  Call one of our Captains today to book your trip!

The fishing today turned the corner. The word is lots of bait fish and lots of big boy kings on the feed. Some of pro's filled the boxes with kings and a few lakers mixed in. The morning bite took fish from top to bottom on plugs, mag spoons, rotators with flies or meat. As the morning bite slowed the fleet moved to the 130 to 250 feet of water and found the temp break at 80 to 100 feet down. The bite was back on with big rotators flies or meat.  Tight Lines and Good Luck  The Capt.

The Manistee fishing is still on the slow side, but as one of the pro's said the fish are deep and should be moving in with all this warm water. The lake temp break is at or about 125 to 135 feet down. The Capts. are taking the kings 140 to 180 feet down with the big rotators, flies and meat rigs. The general consensus from the pro's was the best fishing was over 180 to 220 total depth of water. Tight Lines and Good Luck  The Capt.

The Manistee fishing is some what slow. The lake refusees to heal up. The general consences from the Pro's is better fishing is coming. The lake blessed us with 2 lakers 4 and 6 pounds and 2 kings 3 and 15 pounds, with 3 other hook ups. The pond  was a little bumpy and forced us back to dock by 10:00 a.m. The lakers hit a yellow and black glow spoon and the kings hit a big rotator and fly. All the hits were 70 to 110 down and over 160 to 220 feet of water. My action was on the 15 to 18 line. Tight Lines and Good Luck . The Capt.

Fishing has been Hot and Cold depending on the day.  Fish are now being taken in 100-150 FOW north and south of the harbor with the majority 80-120 down.  Lots of throwbacks mixed in with some larger Kings with a few Lake Trout.  Try spoons on leadcore for smaller fish and flashers with flies for the larger fish.  Good Fishin!

Getting Ready for 2010! PDF
It certainly seems like Spring here in Manistee County.  There are few boats in the water and more on the way.  The boats that are in are taking good catches of Browns along the shore both north and south as well as in the harbor.  Steelhead are still being taken in the rivers.  The wier on the Little Manistee is scheduled to start taking eggs April 6th. Now is the time to call and reserve your fishing trip.  Reports will resume on a regular basis once the big lake season gets going.
