Fishing was HOT this morning. Best action came North in 100-150 foot of water. All nice sized Kings ranging from 15- 20+ pounds. Riggers 80 - 110 down took most of the fish with both spoons and hootchies taking fish. Wire Drivers pulling hootchies rounded out the balance of the catch. The KRW Aquagold fly continues to be a fish killer. It is not too late to get in on the action. Please contact one of our member captains to book your Lake Michigan adventure. |

Sorry for the inconvenience but problems with our host have resulted in the loss of our reports from May, June and July. New reports will be posted regularly. |

Results from the big lake continue to be encouraging. It appears that the Brown Trout fishing may be better this year than what we have experienced the past few seasons. Kings and Lake Trout have been rounding out recent catches but please remember that Lake Trout are out of season until May 1st. On an especially sad note, we learned today that Captain Dan Richards of Huck Finn Charters passed away unexpectedly following surgery. Funeral Services will be in Grand Ledge, Michigan on Friday, April 21st. |

Action on the big lake has been good for boats trolling the shoreline with planer boards. Catches have included decent numbers of browns, lake trout (out of season until May 1st) with a few Kings mixed in. The weather has been warm and brown fishing is expected to improve as the skinny water along shore heats up. Best lures have been body baits such as Rapalas with some action coming on spoons. |

A few boats are in the water and have kicked off the Big Lake Season. The rest of us are all hard at work getting our boats ready. Now is the time to call one of our Captains if you want to get in on some exciting Lake Michigan action for Spring Browns. Steelhead are still hitting in the rivers, contact one of our River Guides if you are interested in spending an enjoyable Spring day on the Big Manistee. The weir on the Little Manistee plans to start taking eggs on Monday April 10th. |

We are starting to hear reports of decent catches of Brown Trout on the Big Lake. Saturday's opener on the Little Manistee was a good one for our group of anglers. Reports from the Big Manistee have been good. Contact one of our river guides to get in on the action. |

Fishing is good in the lower end of the river, with nice catches of steelhead. Fishing should remain good with the extremely mild weather we have been having. Keep pluggin' away. |
